Lead Developer Position

Lead Developer Position

AllGo is seeking a Lead Developer to oversee the ongoing technical maintenance and development of our existing and future products. Our company’s mission is to make the world more accessible for plus-size people. And we’re looking for a full stack developer who is excited for the opportunity to take on a leadership and management role as the company grows.

You will be responsible for a product that is tackling a huge problem (pun intended) and has significant early traction. This is a tremendous opportunity to enter early into a growing, investor-backed startup and play a major role in the company’s leadership, growth, and strategy.

The ideal candidate is an ambitious and entrepreneurial full stack developer who wants an opportunity with significant equity and leadership, and who is passionate about developing technology that helps plus-size people gain equitable access to public accommodations and consumer goods. If your experience, interests, and commitment aligns with our needs and existing team, you have the potential to join the company as a co-founder.

About AllGo

AllGo is a community platform for the 100 million plus-size people in the U.S. who regularly experience judgment and exclusion because of their size. AllGo is obsessed with the radical idea that plus-size people deserve equal access and opportunity to the things that make life great: from the perfect pair of jeans to a comfy seat at their neighborhood dive.

In April 2018, AllGo concluded a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund the development of the beta version of the company’s platform. The company raised $55,158 from 1,137 backers in just 19 days. The company used these funds to launch an MVP in October 2018, acquire nearly 6,000 users, and obtain major media coverage, including a feature story in The New York Times.

AllGo is headquartered in Portland, Oregon.

Responsibilities

To further develop AllGo’s product, you will join the CEO, whose background is in strategy, business development, marketing and communications, and community management. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work with the CEO to develop product strategy

  • Oversight of security, hiring, and infrastructure needed for rapid scaling.

  • Full oversight of all technical development including maintenance of existing codebase, as well as design, coding, release, QA, and troubleshooting of future versions and products.

  • Conduct A/B testing, and facilitate UI testing and feedback.

  • Complete development of new features already identified in the existing roadmap.

  • Data collection, management, and analysis.

  • Manage technical team hires and contractors.

  • Share customer service responsibilities with the CEO until a customer support team is established.

Requirements to Apply

  • Full stack web development capabilities including front-end web development using modern frameworks; back-end server-side development; back-end complex database management; UX design and testing; cross-browser compatibility; security and infrastructure. MVP is built with Flutter.io and hosted on Firebase.

  • Ability to manage quick product development, iteration, and release. Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) is a must.

  • Familiarity with modern cloud services.

  • Passion for joining an early-stage startup and managing technical growth in a quick moving work environment.

  • Excitement for plus-size accessibility and improving the way people access public spaces and get the products they need.

  • Work experience that shows your ability to oversee the software development life cycle and build/manage a team of developers.

Compensation

This is a full-time position. Compensation is a combination of salary, benefits, and equity and is dependent on experience, commensurate with other early-stage startup compensation packages.

Our Values

We believe a diversity of experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds will make our company a success. As such, we will not discriminate on any basis. People who are underrepresented in technical fields are encouraged to apply.
